OPTIONS AVAILABLE: You can hire a bike for the duration of the trip at an additional £100pp. Simply Select `Options Available' on the left and choose `Hire Bike'.
DURATION: 3 days (2 days cycling and 1 day walking) within a 4 day event. 3 nights twin accomodation with breakfast is included.

WHO CAN DO THIS: To do this trip you need to have a certain level of fitness. No previous experience is required however the fitter you are the more you will enjoy the event.
The cycling days cover 40-45 miles each day and take about 6-8 hours. There are comparatively few steep hills on the route, you will be walking the steeper sections. The walking day covers about 15 miles of quite rugged terrain and will take up to 7-8 hours. If possible please try the odd training walk before you arrive.The walk is suitable for most people. You need to be able to walk several hours a day whilst carrying a small backpack.
We recommend that you follow a fitness plan in preparation for your challenge, an example of one will be sent to you when you have confirmed your booking by our events partner. Although the fitness plan sent to you has been devised by a fitness professional, this is only provided as a guide and you should seek professional advice before starting your own fitness regime.

NUMBERS ON THE DAY: Guiding will be by qualified mountain leaders at a ratio of 1 guide to 8 participants. Leaders have many years experience of leading across UK terrain and will add substantially to your experience. Any number can join an open trip, or for groups of 8 or more a bespoke trip can be run on dates by arrangement.
TYPICAL ITINERARY: Please note: This itinerary is a guide only. It can be subject to change dependent upon viability, course members’ fitness, weather conditions or for any other reason the organisers think necessary. Best efforts will be made to adhere to the original itinerary.
Day 1 = Meet late afternoon or evening at the accommodation. Briefing with trip leader and guides in the evening.
Day 2 = Transfer to start of event at Bowness-on-Solway. Cycle along Hadrian’s Wall Cycleway; taking in the Solway Firth, Carlisle, Brampton, Lanercost Priory and Gilsland to Greenhead (approx 40 miles). Transfer to accommodation.
Day 3 = Transfer to Greenhead for walking section. Walk along the most spectacular section of Hadrian’s Wall, from Greenhead to Brocolitia. Approx 15 miles.
Day 4 = Transfer back to Brocolitia, with bike. Cycle through Hexham, Ovingham, and Newcastle to Wallsend (approx 45 miles). End of event and transfer to Newcastle station to return home.

- Transfers from point of arrival and point of departure as well as during the trip to the start and finish points of your walks
- Baggage and cycle equipment transfer

- Briefing, route planning and equipment check to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy the following days fully
- Three nights twin room accommodation with breakfast
- Group first aid kit with qualified first aiders

- Travel to and from arrival and departure points

- Insurance (for cancellation, accident, health, emergency evacuation and loss, theft of or damage to baggage and personal effects).
